1. We use 'a lot of' in positive and negative or question sentence and we can use countable or
uncountable nouns.
Example : i. "I have a lot of sugar."
ii. "I have a lot of car in my garage."
2. We use 'many' and 'a lot of' in positive sentences
Example : "I have many friends."
"I have a lot of friends."
NB: "Many is more formal than a lot of"
3. We use many with plural countable nouns in negative and question sentence.
Example : "Do you have many chairs in your office?"
"You don't have many friends in Surabaya."
4. We use much with uncountable nouns in negative and question sentence.
Example : "I don't have much sugar in my kitchen"
"Did you have much time yesterday?"
5. We don't normally use much in positive sentence.
